The history goes way back to 2012 when Mr. Abubakari Rashid together
with some community development activists realized the need to respond to the
growing number of youth who have left school due to a variety of reasons linked
to poverty. It was then conceived that the Yaakoro vocational skills training
shop be transformed into Yaakoro Youth Development Center (YADEC). YADEC aims
to change youth alienation by equipping them with life skills and vocational
skills to
develop their sense of responsibility and foster a positive outlook so they can become contributing members of society.
